HOW WE CAN HELP

Our family law services

We aim to settle what can sensibly be settled and to fight what must be fought. You’ll always know where your matter stands, what it is likely to cost, and what we recommend, in plain language and without drama.

Divorce

Uncontested divorces finalised quickly and affordably; contested divorces litigated firmly to protect your financial interests and parental rights.

Care & contact of children

Care and contact arrangements, parenting plans, relocation disputes and enforcement, always guided by the best interests of the child.

Settlement agreements

Settlements that deal properly with assets, maintenance, pension interests and parenting arrangements, drafted to hold up long after the ink dries.

Maintenance

Claiming, defending, enforcing or varying child and spousal maintenance in line with actual needs and means.

Protecting what matters most

Escalating conflict in a family matter costs money and damages the relationships you and your children have to live with afterwards. When firm action is needed to protect you or your children, we take it without hesitation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Your questions, answered

Direction, not legal advice. For advice on your specific situation, book a confidential consultation.

An uncontested divorce can be finalised in as little as six to eight weeks. A contested divorce takes considerably longer, often a year or more, which is one reason we always explore settlement first.

An uncontested divorce is charged at a predictable, agreed fee. Contested divorces depend on the issues in dispute. We give you a clear estimate at your first consultation.

South African law no longer uses ‘custody’. Courts decide care (where children live) and contact (time with the other parent) based on the children’s best interests, not on any preference for mothers or fathers.

That depends on your marital regime: in community of property, the joint estate is generally divided equally; with an antenuptial contract, the accrual system or the contract’s terms apply.
